Learn more about Dr. Roy Waldo Miner, who documented the coral reefs of the Bahamas in the 1920s and 1930s. These unique hand-colored photographic images from the collection of the Miami Science Museum document the ingenuity and technology required to collect and transport 40 tons of coral for a two-story diorama at the American Museum of Natural History.

This exhibit features interior works created by light sculptor Leo Villareal. In addition, the museum will include a video loop of the exterior of the building to provide further context for the understanding and appreciation of Villareal's artistic outlook.

This exhibition will present more than 40 paintings and sculptures from the nation's early years through the 20th century. On display are works by Thomas Moran, Georgia O'Keeffe, George Inness, Herman Herzog, Robert Henri, Charles Sheeler and others.

Enjoy a ten minute discussion on the care and training of the beautiful and exotic tigers by one of the tiger experts. These jungle creatures are really a must see.

Fashioned after the clay cliffs in Manu, Peru, this is an interactive experience with Squirrel Monkeys, free-flying macaws and parrots as well as other exotic animals. A ten minute presentation on the habits and habitats of these animals will be given by one of our Animal Care Trainers who will remain present to answer questions relating to this exhibit.

In addition to affordable, regionally grown produce, this year-round market features events such as plants sales, cigar festivals and the annual holiday arts and crafts fiesta. In addition, each week will feature live entertainment, performers, demonstrations and more. The Fresh Market takes place rain or shine.

This display provides historical background about the region in kid-friendly and interactive ways. The 'Agriculture/Grove Stand' features Floridiana, a restored 1908 REO automobile and a "design your own crate label" station. 'Natural Resources' allows you to test your knowledge of the region's natural resources and supporting industries. 'Port City' tells the story of Tampa's industrial ports with a theater presentation in a cargo container and the "Tiny Tampa" play table.

More than 120 works will be showcased, including painted pottery, terracottas, marble and bronze sculpture, and a selection of ancient coins, gold jewelry and glass.

On display at the Museum are 45 extraordinary examples of textiles and beadwork from a number of regions of the African continent. Highlights include a colorful Kente cloth of West Africa, beautifully beaded aprons of the Kirdi in Cameroon, a Zulu wedding cape and embellished animal skins of the San people of South Africa, as well as a number of stunning beaded crowns and headdresses of the Yoruba people of Nigeria. The Roth Collection has been recognized by Art and Antiques Magazine as one of the top 100 art collections in America.

Contemporary art can include representational imagery, pure abstraction or elements of both. Additionally, artists often borrow styles and imagery from art of the past, other cultures and popular media. Artists whose work will be represented in this exhibition include Ursula von Rydingsvard, John Chamberlain, Frank Moore, Therman Statom, Chuck Close and Howardena Pindell.

One of our reptile experts will give a brief commentary and answer questions. You can also take a walk on the wild side and see a unique and rare Albino alligator.

This comprehensive exhibition of masterpieces from ancient Mexico through Panama that now reside in the permanent collection of the Lowe Art Museum will be accompanied by a scholarly catalogue, lectures and educational programs for the public that highlight and explore the complex relationship between art and the natural world.

There are some exhibits that are the staple of the Orlando Science Center. NatureWorks will have you up close and personal with some of nature's most fascinating reptiles. At DinoDigs, you'll step back into the prehistoric age. Explore such concepts as electricity and magnetism, lasers, soundwaves, and nature's forces in Science Park. No visit to the Science Center is complete without a trip to KidsTown, an interactive world dedicated to our smaller explorers.

At this weekly event in Old Town, you'll see Hogs, Choppers, foreign and domestic bikes and more. Bikes start rolling in around 6 pm.
