Contemporary art can include representational imagery, pure abstraction or elements of both. Additionally, artists often borrow styles and imagery from art of the past, other cultures and popular media. Artists whose work will be represented in this exhibition include Ursula von Rydingsvard, John Chamberlain, Frank Moore, Therman Statom, Chuck Close and Howardena Pindell.

'The Changing Face of Art and Politics,' the second exhibition in the ArtLab @ The Lowe series, examines political imagery through style and technique, and the consideration of motifs and narratives that share an affinity over time. On view in the Bermont Focus Gallery, this exhibit was curated by students in the Spring 2010 Museum Studies II class (ARH 508) under the direction of Dr. Joel Hollander.

On display in the Michael and Judi Matus Focus Gallery are 30 photographs by American photographer Frank Paulin. Paulin is recognized for uniquely documenting fleeting human moments of both humor and poetry, particularly against the backdrop of gritty urban scenes.

Every Saturday evening, an average of 300 classic cars, hot rods, street rods and antiques parade down the brick streets of Old Town. Cars start arriving at 1pm and the car cruise begins around 8:30 pm. Live rock 'n' roll will be performed on the Main Stage at 7 pm.

Individually, their respective prowess and accomplishments are impressive; but together, they're brutal and unstoppable. Megadeth and Slayer will join forces to co-headline "American Carnage," the most blistering, the most explosive, and the most eagerly-anticipated mega-tour of the year! "American Carnage" is the first time that Slayer and Megadeth will have toured the U.S. together since 1991's epic "Clash of the Titans" tour.

There are some exhibits that are the staple of the Orlando Science Center. NatureWorks will have you up close and personal with some of nature's most fascinating reptiles. At DinoDigs, you'll step back into the prehistoric age. Explore such concepts as electricity and magnetism, lasers, soundwaves, and nature's forces in Science Park. No visit to the Science Center is complete without a trip to KidsTown, an interactive world dedicated to our smaller explorers.

On display at the Museum are 45 extraordinary examples of textiles and beadwork from a number of regions of the African continent. Highlights include a colorful Kente cloth of West Africa, beautifully beaded aprons of the Kirdi in Cameroon, a Zulu wedding cape and embellished animal skins of the San people of South Africa, as well as a number of stunning beaded crowns and headdresses of the Yoruba people of Nigeria. The Roth Collection has been recognized by Art and Antiques Magazine as one of the top 100 art collections in America.

It was the Eagles who pushed for the founding of Mother's Day, who provided the impetus for Social Security and, who pushed to end job discrimination based on age. The Eagles have provided support for medical centers across the country to build and provide research for medical conditions — we raise millions of dollars every year to combat heart disease and cancer, help handicapped kids, uplift the aged and make life a little brighter for everyone.

The Eagles are hometown builders. We support our police, firefighters, and others who protect and serve. We fund medical research in areas such as spinal cord injuries, kidney disease, diabetes and Alzheimer's. We help raise money for our communities...we are the Eagles and we are "People Helping People."

The ladies motorcycle group "Leather & Lace" are holding a yard sale at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie. All proceeds are going to the John Hopkins Hospital Breast Cancer Research Center. Lookout for chicks on bikes!

After one of the Center's fun-filled sessions, join the trainer on the dock to shake flippers and say hello to a new dolphin friend. Let them glide under your hand for a backrub. This program is offered on a walk-in basis only.

During this interactive program, a trainer will give a short presentation about dolphin behavior and the importance of play in a dolphin's daily life. Next, you'll go down on the dock, meet a dolphin face to face, and participate in one of the dolphin's playtime sessions.

After watching an exciting behavior session, children will join the trainers on the dock for an up close introduction to the dolphins. Then, they'll kneel and hold the T-shirt over the water while the dolphins paint using the colors chosen. A commemorative photograph will also be available for purchase. If the accompanying adult does not wish to participate fully in the program, then a nominal $10 fee will be charged.

More than 120 works will be showcased, including painted pottery, terracottas, marble and bronze sculpture, and a selection of ancient coins, gold jewelry and glass.

As a new addition to the urban landscape of Tampa and in an attempt to position the museum as a vital participant in the discussion about what makes a great city in the 21st century, the museum is pleased to present The Hidden City.

This exhibit features interior works created by light sculptor Leo Villareal. In addition, the museum will include a video loop of the exterior of the building to provide further context for the understanding and appreciation of Villareal's artistic outlook.
